Salvation explained and the Prayer

The Way to Eternal Life and Salvation is done by you choosing the way of the New Life by simply following the guidelines hereafter and understanding that the simplicity of it is what makes it so hard for some to believe that it’s that easy to get to heaven when you so desire this New journey, which for me is called ‘Life in Christ’.

In this world so many people are accustomed to buying their way into positions, getting things through them striving to be connected to the ‘right connection’ be it with people or being a certain way (the act of doing something) to get where they need to be.

In the Christian Walk, It’s different.  God does not operate with man’s ways and principles.  God is not expecting us to do an act, He accepts you as you are, right now, this very moment. I do believe that you would not be led to read this particular section because you are inquisitive but because you are hungry and searching for this New Life experience. God loves you and cares about you so much that He thought you are to die for. (That’s what Good Friday is all about, Jesus dying on the cross. Explained further in this passage).

There are 4 simple steps on how to get saved:

  1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner, you might not feel like one but this is not about emotions ok? All the scriptures following is found In the New Testament of the Holy Bible the book of Romans chapter 3: verses 10 and 23) “There is no one righteous, not even one… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
  2. Recognize that Jesus died on the cross for you. (1 Peter 3:18) “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”
  3. Repent of your sins. (Acts 3:19 NIV) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, and you will experience the restoration that comes from the Lord”
  4. Receive Jesus as you Savior. (Romans 10:9-10) “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

This is the way to salvation and now you know how to get saved. This is why it is called the free gift of salvation because it has nothing to do with what you did in the past, in your present or what you will do in the future.  It has to do with what Jesus Christ already did for you on the cross.  All you have to do from here on is to Believe.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

So, what do you do now?

Find a church that teach from the bible and recognize the 4 points above as the way to get to heaven this is the most important thing.

Read the bible for yourself.  Since you will be a new Christian you want to find a version of the bible that is easy to read like the NIV (New International Version).  You can find it online for free by going here www.biblegateway.com you can also download the app on your phone and read the bible from your mobile device.  Read a little at night before you go to bed and ask God to show you what He wants you to understand from it.

Pray. Prayer is so important because this is how you will communicate with God.  God will communicate with you a lot in the beginning through reading the bible.  So, reading the bible and prayer opens the two-way communication between you and God.  During your prayer time, He will begin to reveal His plans and purpose for your life

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

John 3:16-18 New International Version (NIV)” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Here is a summary of the Gospel:

We do not and cannot measure up to God’s standard of perfection.

God is just and must punish us for our sins. The punishment is eternal separation from Him.

Jesus Christ is God who became man, went to the cross and solved our problem of sin by being punished as our substitute. He came back from the dead. God is now able to offer you the gift of eternal life. You now have access to God and Communion with Him.

The Prayer

If this is your desire and you would like to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior all you need to do is pray this prayer.

Lord Jesus, I want to become a follower of Yours. I come to You acknowledging that I am a sinner. I know that I cannot make myself acceptable to God through my own efforts. I believe You went to the cross to be judged in my place. I trust You to save me from the judgment I deserve. I trust You to give me a new life. I believe that you are the only one who can give me eternal life and true communion with God. Give me the free gift of Your Holy Spirit so that I may live a life that honors you. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your love. Give me the strength and wisdom I need to learn Your ways so that I might follow You as my Lord. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer you are on your way to a new life.  Find a church in your area that teaches the bible.  You can use our statement of faith as a guide to finding the right church or you can send us an email and we will be happy to help you find a spiritual home.
